Fitting method
Vantage RV roof racks were initially designed for motorhomes and caravans made from lightweight products such as foam aluminium or fibreglass composite boards. These body designs are not suited to dealing with the point loads exerted by the pads of traditional roof racks.
These roof racks spread the load over the entire length of the side rails, preferably on the vehicle's side edge.
They are bonded to the roof, and stainless steel tech screws are sometimes used but only to anchor the roof rack in place while the urethane sets.
Our roof racks have become popular with motorhomes or camper vans constructed using standard commercial panel vans. We apply the same mounting method to the roofs of these vans with excellent results.
Vantage RV roof racks are capable of carrying heavy loads if the heavy-duty tube is used, with the added bonus of being able to fit a wall-mount awning to the side of the roof rack rail.
